Information for Borrowers considering an arrangement under the Personal Insolvency Act 2012 as amended
What is it?
The Personal Insolvency Act is designed to help borrowers who are in genuine distress and cannot afford to pay their debts as they fall due. It applies to individuals only, and not to companies. The ultimate aim is to return the borrower to solvency in the fairest and most equitable way. For more information about the availability of, and process involved in seeking an arrangement under the Act, please visit the Insolvency Service of Ireland’s website www.isi.gov.ie.
